During your consultation, we will:

           • Review your full medical history

           • Discuss your current symptoms and concerns

           • Review medications and prior testing

           • Explore how hormonal changes may be affecting your health

           • Discuss evidence-based options tailored to your goals

Every woman’s experience with hormonal transition is different, and care plans should reflect that.

If hormone therapy is being considered, we will review potential benefits, risks, and available FDA-approved options. Our goal is to provide clear, research-informed information so you can make decisions that align with your health goals and personal preferences.

Hormone therapy is not the right choice for everyone, and treatment decisions should always be individualized.

The Role of Testosterone in Women

Have you noticed a decline in sexual desire that feels distressing or out of character for you?

Changes in libido during midlife are common and can be influenced by many factors — hormonal, psychological, relational, and physical.

Testosterone is one hormone that plays a role in female sexual health, but its function is often misunderstood.

What Does Testosterone Do in Women?

Testosterone is produced primarily in the ovaries during reproductive years and in smaller amounts by the adrenal glands throughout life.

           In women, testosterone contributes to:

           • Sexual desire

           • Arousal and sexual responsiveness

           • Mood and motivation

           • Muscle mass

           • Bone health

Testosterone levels naturally decline beginning in the late 30s and continue gradually with age.

However, sexual desire is complex and influenced by far more than hormone levels alone.

What Is Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD)?

HSDD is defined as persistent low sexual desire that causes personal distress and is not fully explained by another medical, psychological, or relationship condition.

Research suggests that approximately 12–26% of U.S. women between ages 45–64 report symptoms consistent with HSDD.

           Symptoms may include:

           • Reduced sexual thoughts or fantasies

           • Decreased interest in intimacy

           • Changes in orgasm intensity

           • Emotional distress related to low desire

           A comprehensive evaluation should consider:

           • Hormonal factors

           • Medication effects

           • Chronic health conditions

           • Sleep quality

           • Relationship dynamics

           • Psychological stressors

Serum testosterone levels alone do not reliably diagnose HSDD.

           Testosterone Therapy and HSDD

Several clinical studies have evaluated transdermal testosterone therapy in postmenopausal women with HSDD.

Research suggests that, when carefully selected and appropriately dosed within physiologic premenopausal ranges, testosterone therapy may improve sexual desire and reduce sexual distress in some women.

           Important considerations:

           • There is currently no FDA-approved testosterone product specifically indicated for HSDD in women in the United States.

           • Therapy is considered off-label.

           • Long-term safety data remain limited.

           • Treatment requires careful monitoring.

Not all women will respond to therapy, and response varies.

Some clinical guidelines recommend discontinuing treatment if meaningful improvement is not observed after an adequate trial period, typically around 12 weeks.

           Potential Side Effects

Possible side effects of testosterone therapy may include:

           • Acne

           • Increased facial or body hair

           • Scalp hair thinning

           • Voice changes

           • Clitoral enlargement

Appropriate dosing and monitoring are essential to minimize risk.

           A Thoughtful Approach

Sexual health is multifactorial. A holistic evaluation should include:

           • Medical history

           • Medication review

           • Hormonal assessment

           • Psychosocial factors

           • Relationship context

Testosterone therapy may be appropriate for select individuals, but it is not a universal solution.

If you are experiencing distress related to changes in sexual desire, a personalized consultation can help determine whether hormonal or non-hormonal options may be appropriate for you.

Why Consider Hormone Replacement Therapy?

All women will transition through menopause. However, not all women experience symptoms that significantly disrupt daily life.

For those who do, it is reasonable to ask:

Is hormone therapy right for me?

           Common Menopausal Symptoms

Many women report symptoms such as:

           • Hot flashes and night sweats

           • Mood changes

           • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating

           • Sleep disruption

           • Vaginal dryness or discomfort with intimacy

           • Low libido

           • Joint or muscle discomfort

For some women, these symptoms are mild and manageable. For others, they may persist for years and meaningfully affect quality of life.

When Might Hormone Therapy Be Considered?

Some women find symptom relief through lifestyle modifications, stress reduction, nutrition changes, and other non-hormonal strategies.

Others may benefit from prescription therapies, including menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), after a thorough evaluation.

Hormone therapy is considered one of the most effective treatments for moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms when prescribed to appropriate candidates.

           Potential benefits may include:

           • Reduction in hot flashes and night sweats

           • Improved sleep

           • Improved mood stability

           • Relief of vaginal dryness

           • Support of bone density

Large clinical trials have also demonstrated that hormone therapy can reduce fracture risk in certain postmenopausal women.

What About Heart and Brain Health?

The effects of hormone therapy on cardiovascular and cognitive health depend on timing, age, and individual risk factors.

Current evidence suggests that initiating hormone therapy in women younger than 60 or within 10 years of menopause onset may have a more favorable risk profile compared to initiating later in life. However, treatment decisions must be individualized.

Hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone.

           Potential Risks and Side Effects

Like all medications, hormone therapy carries potential risks and side effects.

           Possible side effects may include:

           • Headaches

           • Nausea

           • Breast tenderness

           • Mood changes

           • Breakthrough bleeding

Many side effects are temporary and may improve with dose adjustments or time.

Contraindications and personal risk factors must be carefully reviewed before initiating therapy.

           How Do You Decide?

The decision to begin hormone therapy should be based on:

           • Symptom severity

           • Age and time since menopause

           • Personal and family medical history

           • Cardiovascular and cancer risk

           • Individual preferences

Understanding Menopause: What to Expect and What Options Exist

Menopause is defined as the point in time when a woman has gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. After this milestone, she is considered postmenopausal.

The average age of menopause in the United States is approximately 51, though it commonly occurs between ages 45 and 55.

Hormonal changes during this transition can influence many areas of health and daily life. Commonly reported experiences may include:

           • Changes in sleep patterns

           • Hot flashes or night sweats

           • Mood shifts

           • Vaginal dryness

           • Changes in libido

           • Altered sexual response

           • Anxiety or low mood

           • Itching of the ears or eyes

Research suggests that dozens of symptoms may be associated with hormonal fluctuation during this life stage. However, every woman’s experience is unique. Not all individuals will experience the same symptoms, and the intensity can vary significantly.

Hormonal shifts during menopause are related to natural changes in estrogen, progesterone, and other hormone levels. For some women, certain medical therapies may be appropriate to help manage symptoms under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.

When clinically indicated, FDA-approved hormone therapies may be considered as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. For those who prefer not to pursue hormone therapy, there are also FDA-approved non-hormonal options that may be appropriate depending on individual health history and goals.

Treatment decisions should always be personalized, taking into account your medical history, risk factors, preferences, and overall health objectives.

Menopause is a significant life transition, but it does not have to be navigated alone. An individualized plan can help you better understand your options and determine what approach aligns with your goals.

If you are experiencing changes that concern you, consider scheduling a consultation to discuss your symptoms and explore evidence-based options.

Women’s Hormonal Health & Wellness, PLLC was created from my own experience navigating perimenopause and menopause.

The average age of menopause is around 51, and perimenopausal changes commonly begin between ages 45 and 55. What I did not realize at the time was that my symptoms had started much earlier.

At age 40, my menstrual cycles became irregular, more frequent, and significantly heavier. Prior to that, I had always been predictable and consistent. I sought care and was offered oral birth control. When the bleeding persisted and I began experiencing mood changes, the medication was discontinued.

During subsequent evaluations, I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids and advised to wait for menopause, as symptoms might improve afterward. Despite multiple visits and conversations, the term “perimenopause” was never discussed.

           I continued searching for answers.

Through additional education, research, and professional training, I began to better understand the hormonal transitions occurring in midlife. Even then, I experienced ongoing fatigue, weight changes, and mood shifts. When my periods stopped at age 50, I assumed the transition was complete. Continued learning and evidence-based education helped me understand that menopause is not an endpoint, but another phase of health that deserves thoughtful care.

I pursued additional training in menopausal medicine, including advanced coursework focused on evidence-based hormone therapy and midlife women’s health. The more I learned, the more I recognized how many women share similar stories of confusion, dismissal, or uncertainty during this stage of life.

Women’s Hormonal Health & Wellness was created to provide a different experience — one centered on education, research-driven options, and collaborative decision-making.

Every woman’s journey is unique. There is no single protocol that fits everyone. My goal is to listen to your story, understand your symptoms and goals, and explore appropriate options together.

Midlife health transitions can feel overwhelming. You deserve to feel informed, supported, and heard.

I look forward to walking alongside you in your wellness journey.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition that affects women during their reproductive years and may have long-term metabolic and cardiovascular implications.

PCOS is characterized by hormonal imbalance and may involve enlarged ovaries with multiple small follicles. However, not all women with PCOS have ovarian cysts. Diagnosis is based on a combination of clinical history, symptoms, laboratory findings, and imaging when appropriate.

           Common Symptoms of PCOS

Symptoms can vary widely and may include:

           • Irregular or absent menstrual cycles

           • Weight changes

           • Excess hair growth

           • Insulin resistance

Not every woman will experience the same symptoms, and severity can differ significantly.

While PCOS is often discussed in relation to fertility, research suggests it may also be associated with:

           • Insulin resistance

           • Metabolic syndrome

           • Changes in body composition

           • Cardiovascular risk factors

           • Hormonal shifts that may persist into midlife

           Long-term health monitoring is important.

           Lifestyle Considerations for PCOS

Lifestyle interventions are commonly recommended as part of a comprehensive PCOS management plan. These may include:

           • Following a Mediterranean-style dietary pattern emphasizing vegetables, legumes, whole grains, healthy fats, and minimally processed foods

           • Engaging in regular physical activity, including both resistance training and cardiovascular exercise

           • Prioritizing restorative sleep

           • Reducing highly processed carbohydrates and added sugars

Some studies have explored the role of specific foods and supplements, such as flaxseed, in metabolic health. If considering supplementation, discuss this with a qualified healthcare professional to ensure it is appropriate for you.

           PCOS and Menopause

Research indicates that hormonal patterns associated with PCOS may persist into perimenopause and menopause. Some women with a history of PCOS may experience ongoing metabolic or androgen-related changes later in life.

Management during midlife should be individualized based on symptoms, medical history, and risk profile.

           Hormone Therapy and PCOS

For women entering perimenopause or menopause, hormone therapy may be considered when clinically appropriate. A history of PCOS does not automatically exclude someone from menopausal hormone therapy; however, treatment decisions should be based on an individualized risk assessment and current clinical guidelines.

A thorough evaluation is essential before initiating any hormone therapy.

           When to Seek Evaluation

If you are experiencing irregular cycles, metabolic concerns, or midlife hormonal changes and have a history of PCOS, consider scheduling a consultation to review your symptoms and discuss evidence-based options tailored to your goals.

What Is Osteoporosis and Osteopenia?

Bone health becomes increasingly important as we age, particularly during and after menopause.

Most professional societies recommend bone mineral density (BMD) testing for all women beginning at age 65. However, women with certain risk factors may benefit from earlier evaluation.

If you have concerns about bone health, a personalized discussion can help determine whether screening is appropriate for you.

           What Is Osteoporosis?

The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases defines osteoporosis as:

“Osteoporosis is a bone disease that develops when bone mineral density and bone mass decreases, or when the structure and strength of bone changes. This can lead to a decrease in bone strength that can increase the risk of fractures (broken bones).”

Osteopenia refers to lower-than-normal bone density that is not yet severe enough to be classified as osteoporosis. It may increase the risk of future bone loss and fracture if progression occurs.

           • Advanced age

Having risk factors does not mean you will develop osteoporosis, but they may influence screening and prevention strategies.

           Lifestyle Considerations for Bone Health

Lifestyle strategies may help support bone health and slow age-related bone loss. These include:

           • Adequate intake of calcium, magnesium, vitamin K, and vitamin D, ideally from dietary sources when possible

           • Weight-bearing and resistance exercise

           • A nutrient-dense eating pattern that includes sufficient protein

           • Limiting excessive alcohol intake

           • Avoiding tobacco use

Some professional guidelines recommend approximately 600–800 IU of vitamin D daily for most adults, though individual needs may vary based on lab results and clinical assessment.

Exercise recommendations commonly include at least 150 minutes of moderate activity weekly, incorporating both weight-bearing and strength-based movement.

Lifestyle interventions may help reduce risk but do not eliminate the possibility of bone loss.

           Hormone Therapy and Bone Health

Research, including data from the Women’s Health Initiative, has shown that estrogen therapy and combined estrogen-progestin therapy can reduce fracture risk in certain postmenopausal women.

Hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Decisions regarding menopausal hormone therapy should be individualized and based on:

           • Age

           • Time since menopause

           • Personal and family medical history

           • Cardiovascular and cancer risk profile

           • Overall health goals

A thorough evaluation is essential before initiating treatment.

Several medications are approved to treat osteoporosis and reduce fracture risk. These may include:

           • Bisphosphonates

           • Selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs)

           • RANK ligand inhibitors

           • Parathyroid hormone receptor agonists

           • Calcitonin

These therapies should be prescribed and monitored by a qualified healthcare professional based on individual risk assessment.

If you have risk factors, a history of fracture, or concerns about bone health during perimenopause or menopause, consider scheduling a consultation to discuss whether bone density testing or preventive strategies may be appropriate for you.

Bone health plays a critical role in maintaining mobility, independence, and overall quality of life as we age.

If you have risk factors for osteopenia or osteoporosis, understanding available preventive strategies and treatment options can help you make informed decisions.

           Why Prevention Matters

Bone loss often develops gradually and without symptoms. By the time osteoporosis is diagnosed, fracture risk may already be elevated.

Research suggests that approximately one in three women may develop osteoporosis during their lifetime. Fractures, particularly hip fractures in older adults, are associated with increased morbidity and mortality. For this reason, early identification of risk factors and proactive management are important.

           Lifestyle and Supportive Strategies

Prevention and management strategies may include a combination of lifestyle modification, nutritional support, and when appropriate, medical therapy.

           Physical Activity

Weight-bearing and resistance-based exercise are widely recommended to support bone strength.

           Some studies have explored:

Use of weighted vests during walking to improve balance and potentially stimulate bone-loading responses in postmenopausal women

Resistance training to support bone mineral density and muscle strength

Exercise may help reduce fall risk, which is an important factor in fracture prevention.

Nutrition

Adequate intake of calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin K, and sufficient dietary protein is commonly recommended to support bone health.

           Emerging research has examined:

Bioactive collagen peptides (such as specific multi-collagen formulations) and their potential role in supporting bone mineral density over time

Creatine supplementation in conjunction with resistance training and its possible supportive effect on musculoskeletal health

While early studies are promising, supplementation should be discussed with a healthcare professional to determine appropriateness and safety.

           Hormone Therapy and Bone Health

Estrogen plays a significant role in maintaining bone mass. After menopause, declining estrogen levels contribute to accelerated bone loss.

Large clinical trials, including the Women’s Health Initiative, have demonstrated that menopausal hormone therapy can reduce fracture risk in certain postmenopausal women.

Hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone and should only be considered after an individualized risk-benefit assessment that includes:

            Age

           Medical Treatment Options

For individuals diagnosed with osteoporosis or at high fracture risk, prescription medications may be recommended. These should be prescribed and monitored by a qualified healthcare professional.

           Treatment decisions depend on:

If you have a personal or family history of fracture, early menopause, chronic inflammatory disease, or other risk factors, consider scheduling a consultation to review your bone health and discuss appropriate screening and prevention strategies.

Emerging research is drawing attention to what some experts now describe as the “musculoskeletal syndrome of menopause.”

Globally, millions of women transition into menopause each year. During this transition, many experience changes that affect joints, muscles, connective tissue, and overall physical function.

Recent literature suggests that a significant percentage of women report musculoskeletal symptoms during perimenopause and menopause. These may include:

           • Joint stiffness

           • Tendon discomfort

           • Muscle aches

           • Reduced strength

           • Slower recovery from physical activity

For some women, these symptoms may meaningfully affect quality of life.

           Why Does This Happen?

Estrogen plays an important role in maintaining:

           • Collagen production

           • Tendon and ligament integrity

           • Muscle mass

           • Bone density

           • Inflammatory regulation

As estrogen levels decline, some women experience changes in musculoskeletal function that may increase discomfort or injury susceptibility.

This evolving body of research is helping clinicians better understand how hormonal transitions affect connective tissue and physical performance.

           What Can Be Done?

Management depends on the individual and may include:

           • Resistance and strength training

           • Adequate protein intake

           • Targeted physical therapy

           • Bone health evaluation

           • Review of hormonal status

           • Discussion of appropriate medical therapies when indicated

There is no universal approach. An individualized evaluation helps determine which strategies are most appropriate.

Hot Flashes and Vasomotor Symptoms

Do you experience hot flashes, night sweats, or sudden facial flushing?

These symptoms — known as vasomotor symptoms (VMS) — are among the most common experiences during perimenopause and menopause.

           How Common Are Vasomotor Symptoms?

Research suggests that more than 70–80% of women experience vasomotor symptoms during the menopausal transition.

For some women, symptoms are mild and short-lived. For others, they may persist for several years and meaningfully affect daily life.

           Vasomotor symptoms may:

           • Disrupt sleep

           • Affect mood

           • Reduce concentration

           • Impact quality of life

Are Hot Flashes Just a Nuisance?

Emerging research suggests that vasomotor symptoms may be associated with underlying vascular changes. Some studies have identified correlations between frequent or severe vasomotor symptoms and markers of cardiovascular risk.

Association does not necessarily mean causation, but these findings highlight the importance of taking symptoms seriously and considering overall cardiovascular health during midlife.

Menopausal hormone therapy is considered one of the most effective treatments for vasomotor symptoms in appropriate candidates. It is not suitable for everyone and requires individualized risk assessment.

Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) and Low Libido

Changes in sexual desire and sexual response are common during perimenopause and menopause. For some women, these changes may feel distressing or impact intimacy and overall well-being.

One term used in clinical settings is Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD). This diagnosis refers to a persistent decrease in sexual desire that causes personal distress and cannot be explained by another medical or relationship condition alone.

If you are experiencing changes that concern you, you are not alone.

           What Symptoms May Be Present?

HSDD and related concerns may include:

           • Decreased sexual desire

           • Reduced arousal

           • Less intense or more difficult orgasm

           • Reduced pleasure or responsiveness

           • Emotional distress related to intimacy

Studies suggest that a substantial percentage of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women report at least one of these concerns during the menopausal transition.

Every woman’s experience is different. Distress — not just reduced desire — is a key part of the diagnosis.

           What Contributes to Low Libido?

Sexual desire is influenced by many factors, including:

Hormonal Changes

           • Declining estrogen

           • Changes in testosterone levels

           • Vaginal dryness or discomfort

           • Pain with intercourse

           • Certain medications such as SSRIs or some blood pressure medications

• Stress

           • Body image changes

           • Cultural or religious influences

           • Relationship dynamics

           • Sleep disturbances

Because desire is multifactorial, evaluation must be individualized.

           What Are Potential Treatment Approaches?

Management depends on the underlying contributors and may include:

           • Addressing vaginal dryness with moisturizers or lubricants

           • Pelvic floor physical therapy

           • Counseling or sex therapy

           • Reviewing medications that may affect libido

           • Lifestyle modifications to improve sleep and stress

           • Evaluating hormone levels when appropriate

           • Considering medical therapies based on individual risk assessment

Some clinicians may discuss testosterone therapy in select cases; however, in the United States, there is currently no FDA-approved testosterone formulation specifically indicated for HSDD in women. Treatment decisions should be made carefully and under medical supervision.

Intravaginal DHEA and other therapies have also been studied, though research is ongoing.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution. A comprehensive evaluation helps determine what options may be appropriate.

           When to Seek Evaluation

If changes in sexual desire or intimacy are causing personal distress, consider scheduling a consultation to review your symptoms, health history, and goals.

Sexual health is an important part of overall wellness and deserves thoughtful, evidence-based discussion.

Vaginal Dryness During Perimenopause and Menopause

Have you noticed increased vaginal dryness or discomfort during intimacy?

Many women experience changes in vaginal comfort during perimenopause and menopause. While it may feel like a minor inconvenience at first, dryness can sometimes be a sign of underlying hormonal changes that affect vaginal tissue health.

           Why Does Vaginal Dryness Occur?

As estrogen levels decline during the menopausal transition, vaginal tissue can become:

           • Thinner

           • Less elastic

           • Less lubricated

           • More sensitive

These changes are part of what is now often referred to as Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) — a term that reflects the broader impact of hormonal changes on vaginal and urinary tissues.

           Symptoms may include:

           • Dryness

           • Pain with intercourse

           • Irritation or burning

           • Recurrent urinary discomfort

Not all women experience these symptoms, and severity varies widely.

For some women, vaginal tissue changes may persist or progress without treatment due to continued low estrogen levels. However, early recognition allows for discussion of supportive strategies that may improve comfort and tissue health.

Management options depend on symptom severity and medical history. These may include:

           • Over-the-counter lubricants

           • Vaginal moisturizers

           • Local vaginal estrogen therapy

           • Other prescription options when appropriate

           • Pelvic floor therapy

An individualized evaluation helps determine what approach is most appropriate for you.

Migraines and Hormone Therapy

Hormonal fluctuations are a well-recognized trigger for migraines in many women. Because estrogen levels shift during perimenopause and menopause, migraine patterns may change during this transition.

Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), sometimes referred to as hormone replacement therapy (HRT), can influence migraines in different ways depending on the individual.

           How Hormones Affect Migraine

Estrogen withdrawal is a known migraine trigger. For some women, stabilizing estrogen levels may reduce hormonally triggered migraine episodes.

           However, responses vary.

           Some women experience improvement.

           Others may notice no change.

A smaller group may experience worsening symptoms.

           Individual history matters.

           Migraine Without Aura

For women who experience migraine without aura, carefully selected menopausal hormone therapy may be considered when clinically appropriate.

Transdermal estrogen (patch, gel, or spray) at the lowest effective dose is often preferred in women with migraine because it produces more stable hormone levels than oral estrogen.

Hormone therapy decisions should always be individualized.

           Migraine With Aura

Migraine with aura carries an independent association with increased stroke risk.

Combined oral contraceptives containing higher doses of estrogen are generally not recommended in women with migraine with aura because they may further increase stroke risk.

Menopausal hormone therapy is not the same as contraceptive estrogen dosing. However, careful risk assessment is still essential before initiating any hormonal therapy in women with migraine with aura.

A detailed medical history is necessary to determine safety.

           Progestogen Considerations

Some women report migraine sensitivity to cyclical hormone fluctuations.

In certain cases, continuous progestogen regimens may be better tolerated than cyclical regimens, though individual responses vary.

           Non-Hormonal Options

For women who cannot or prefer not to use hormone therapy, several non-hormonal options have been studied for both vasomotor symptoms and migraine, including:

           • Certain SSRIs or SNRIs (such as escitalopram or venlafaxine)

           • Gabapentin

           • Lifestyle interventions targeting sleep, hydration, stress management, and regular meals

Management should be tailored to both migraine type and menopausal symptoms.

There is no universal rule when it comes to migraines and hormone therapy.

           Important factors include:

           • Migraine type (with or without aura)

           • Cardiovascular risk profile

           • Smoking status

           • Blood pressure control

           • Personal and family history

If you have migraines and are considering hormone therapy, a personalized consultation is essential to review risks and benefits based on your specific health profile.

Quality sleep is one of the foundational pillars of overall wellness.

Consistent, restorative sleep supports mood, energy levels, cognitive function, immune health, and metabolic balance. When sleep is disrupted over time, it can affect both physical and mental well-being.

Improving sleep hygiene is one practical way to support healthier sleep patterns.

           What Is Sleep Hygiene?

Sleep hygiene refers to the habits, routines, and environmental factors that influence your ability to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Good sleep hygiene helps promote consistent, restorative sleep. Poor sleep habits can contribute to difficulty falling asleep, fragmented sleep, and daytime fatigue.

           Consistent, quality sleep may support:

Research consistently shows an association between poor sleep quality and mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression.

If sleep difficulties persist despite good sleep hygiene practices, further evaluation may be helpful. Underlying conditions such as sleep apnea, hormonal changes, chronic pain, or mood disorders can affect sleep quality.

Is Hormone Replacement Therapy Right For You?

           HRT is not one-size-fits-all.

Hormone changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect many areas of health, including sleep, mood, metabolism, and overall quality of life. For some women, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may be an appropriate option to consider as part of a comprehensive care plan.

However, HRT is not one-size-fits-all. The decision to begin hormone therapy should be based on:

           • Your individual symptoms

           • Your medical history

           • Personal and family risk factors

           • Your health goals and preferences

           • A thorough discussion of risks and benefits

An individualized evaluation is essential to determine whether hormone therapy is appropriate for you.
